Duct Tape Sailor Girl Costume

For a Halloween party, I handmade this entire sailor costume out of Duct Tape. It took many many rolls of duct tape and many hours. I made the top a corset (hand sewn) complete with grommets and a nautical rope tie down the back. I hot glued fabric trim along the top and bottom. I then hand sewed white anchor buttons on the front. The skirt was a little tricky. I made sheets of layered duct tape and cut out an A-Line pattern for the front and back. Both pieces were hand stitched together and I hot glued fabric trim and stars along the bottom. The hat was also made from duct tape and was rather easy to make. I glued an anchor patch on the front. To complete the sailor look, I made an anchor necklace, octopus bracelet and purchased nautical themed shoes. The costume was a great success!
