Dr. Seuss's Who from Whoville - Homemade costumes for groups
Costume type:  Costumes for Groups
Categories:Halloween Costumes, Literary Costumes

This homemade costume for groups entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Becky, the 'Dr. Seuss's Who from Whoville' costume creator:

Costume idea was part of department group costume. Faculty decided to be reindeer, but Assistant Principal opted for the Grinch instead. Another counseling intern and I decided to be Whos from the story. My dress (I'm in the red) is from a consignment store. It was three sizes too big, so I altered the sides, gathered the front and sewed it all together. I added holiday ribbon to the edges and created giant bows for the front. I sewed together different kinds of tulle and attached it to both the top and underneath the dress. My hair was created by first curling hair, adding a foam cone underneath and pulling my hair around the cone then banding it in place. Hair was secured with hair pins, ribbon, and a holiday garnish was added to the front. Makeup was simple black eyeliner for the liner, nose and freckles. :)
