A word from Irlanda, the 'Dia de los Muertos Sugar Skulls' costume creator:
Our costumes were inspired by the movie The Book of Life. I made my baby's top hat and added flowers and hot glued it to a red head band. Her costume consists of a store bought skeleton onesie and store bought tattoo applications for her face, hands and legs. The tattoos were imitations of sugar skull bones and art. Her overall costume costs around $30 dollars and enjoyable hand crafting time. My costume consisted of a store bought lace blouse I and a hand made skirtl; as well as, a hand made Mexican veil I put together with a black sheer fabric and lace table placement mats I took apart and hot glued them to the fabric. Also I made some flowers as my head piece glued to the veil to prevent from falling. I also made my hand accessories by making ribbon flowers and gluing them to another piece of lace from the placement mats and glued a piece of string to tie on my finger. And last but not least I hand painted my face and included store bought sticker gem stones. My overall cost of my costume was about $35 dollars for materials and shirt I bought with an additional excitement as I made these accessories. the entries we will be entering is most creative costume, coolest adult, best couple costume, and baby costume.
