Curious George and The Man in the Yellow Hat Couples Costume

My boyfriend and I dressed up as Curious George and The Man In The Yellow Hat for Halloween last year. Our costumes were almost entirely homemade, minus the leggings and actual clothes. We bought a white long sleeve shirt and pants and dyed them yellow for my boyfriends costume. I also made his hat out of a witches hat, which I sewed yellow material to the base and made a oval top piece. For his tie I just sewed together some yellow felt and attached black dots. For my costume I bought brown leggings, a red shirt, and some faux fur. I cropped the shirt and sewed on yellow felt letters with the Curious George logo. I made fur leg warmers and cuffs for my wrists by sewing pieces of the fur together. I also made a banana fanny pack out of an old bag I found and some felt. For my ears I glued felt onto a black headband and added some leftover fur around the ears. We wore our costumes to the bars and it was a hit! We were easily recognizable and everyone talked about our costumes. It also gave me an excuse to have my boyfriend carry me around to get more into character.
