This homemade costume for women entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Mackenzie, the 'The Mad Hatter' costume creator:

This is the costume I made myself for Halloween this year; it is a feminine spin on the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." I wanted to wait a few years after the movie came out so I wouldn't be one of twenty Mad Hatters everywhere I went. I started working on this costume in April. The only things that aren't made by me are the hat pins, purse, socks, and boots. The materials came from everywhere; from Mood fabrics to F&S upholstery outlet, from a Honk Kong lace shop to an Australian sewing boutique. My favorite (and most difficult and most educational) part of the costume is the hat. After all, what good is a hatter without his hat?!
