A word from Krista, the 'Jurassic Park Inspired Velociraptor' costume creator:

The idea for this costume came about when I was researching leg structures and mechanisms for my previous Halloween costume. My friend and I decided we wanted to be fauns (deer human creatures), and her father suggested using the same principles of these very cool dinosaur costumes online for our deer legs. Fast forward to July 2016 and I started thinking about it again and decided I wanted to make one of those costumes. I used many different tutorials online to try and create the coolest looking costume I could make for the lowest price and as comfortable as possible. It was then made of lightweight materials such as chicken wire and bedsheets over the course of about 3 months (around 2 not counting my breaks inbettween) it had a moving head and jaw as well as some sound effects (provided by my phone), ironically I was unable to finish any feet for the legs on time so I ended up just tying the legs to my ankles. I wore it on Halloween night and everyone knew what I was and were thoroughly impressed, it also held up quite well despite it taking a bit of a beating in transport, it also looked quite funny on me due to my small stature. TIP: of you make this costume yourself, it's imperative you have a guide to help you, I had some vision but it was very limited so I needed one.
