A word from Amber, the '3D Viewmaster & Slide Reel' costume creator:

I love creating new and fun costumes, and I thought this one up last year for halloween. Turns out, it's much harder to make than anticipated, so I moved it to this year and gave myself plenty of time to finish it (about 3 weeks of nonstop work)! If it weren't for my handy husband, Alex, it wouldn't be possible. He was very much against this idea from the onset, but once he got his man-hands on it, he was invested and went all out, making enhancements I had never thought of! It actually works...yhe slide can be placed in the viewmaster and either be projected on a clean wall with two flashlights, each picture corresponding to the phrase in the triangle window, OR just simply looking through each eye piece :) Too big fo 3d of course, but you get the idea. We made this our of 6 student science project fold-in cardboards (4 red and 2 white) and printed our last 5 years of fall photos on transparency paper and inserted them into the windows of the reel. Everything else is just a bit of superglue, hot glue gun, even sewing, endless measuring and engineering, and a lot of heart :)
