A word from Nyomi, the 'Candy Vending Machine' costume creator:

I made my 10 year old son a candy machine! He wanted to be a claw machine, but we ended up with a vending machine! It cost around $10 to make. It was time consuming. I took a large box, cut the top flaps off, flipped it over, and cut a hole in the center. I then got a smaller box, and cut it's size out of the center of the bigger box. Next we painted it black. I then lined up various candy bars and glued them into the smaller box with a glue gun. I then cut a silver slinky and wrapped it partially around the bottom of the candy to look like it would be next to be pushed out. Next I used price tag stickers to mark the code for each snack. I finished up with adding the dollar bill insert, change retrieval, and snack retrieval made of scrap cardboard and tin foil!

Hi! Wondering where you got your idea from. We have the EXACT idea and also have a claw machine idea that we did too, about 2 years ago. I'll send you some photos to see.

My sister-in-law works a vending machine route. We were just brainstorming, and came up with this.

Did you use a clear plastic cover in the front opening? If so what did you use ?
