This homemade costume for babies entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Zahra, the 'Smoke Detector' costume creator:

My son Noah is 3 yrs old. He had a phobia of smoke detectors! Kept saying it watching him, he would scream just so we could have him touch it. We made his costume and he's not scared anymore :) The costume is made with Foam and Hot glued together. Velcro and hot glue on the straps. We carved the costume with a knife and at times scissors, and used mini Led colord lights, which we made a snug hole for them. The Head piece we did find at Target ironically, and it is made from foam too! Look at me, I'm on Fire!

Hello Dear
My son wants to be a volcano this year for halloween and really love the flame hat that your son is wearing it. I was not able to find it anywhere online or stores. do you think I can buy it from you?

Thanks

To the commenter: I think this flame is a Chris March foam wig that is no longer available. (I looked at this possibility for a volcano costume as well! :))

Omgosh!! My 2.5 year old is obsessed with them after an initial fear also. Everywhere we go he immediately spots every smoke or fire alarm in the building. So when we asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween, instead of Bob the Builder or Blippi (again) he said he wanted to be a smoke alarm!! I laughed so hard. Btw he has 2 of his own on the wall in his room at his eye level just to look at all the time lol. This costume is great!! It's just like what I was thinking about doing and I'm just tickled to have found another boy my sons age with a smoke alarm costume.
