|Costume type:||Costumes for Babies|
This homemade costume for babies entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Holly, the 'Chubby Cherub' costume creator:
My 11 month old son, Everson in a home made cherub costume.
He has always gotten comments on how much he looks just like a baby cherub because of his sweet curly hair and chubby rolls, so I decided that this would make a perfect first Halloween costume.
The costume was quite inexpensive. The cloth he is wearing is simply a pillowcase, no sewing involved! The wings took the longest to make. They are a cardboard cutout layered with different size feathers from the crafts store. I fastened the wings to my son with stretchy elastic. I created a bow out of a cluster of long wires and wrapped them in a golden tape. I did the same with the arrows, which was one long wooden dowel cut into four pieces. Finally, the feather ends on the arrows were simply hot glued on. I hot glued EVERYTHING. The entire costume cost around $25, which isn't bad!
