Amelia Earhart Airplane Costume

My daughter Penny was 2 years old and went as Amelia Earhart in a homemade airplane. She loves the color red and transportation vehicles so my husband, Ben, made her an airplane costume out of cardboard boxes (diaper and moving boxes)and painted it red. The propeller on the front actually could turn if you turned it, and it stayed on Penny's shoulders with black rope. We put socks on her shoulders as padding so the rope would not hurt her. The outfit was complete with her brown aviator hat/glasses. My husband and I went as clouds with cardboard necklaces of fluffy white clouds to give the look that Penny was flying through the clouds while she stood next to us. She zoomed all over pretending to fly in her costume :0)
