This homemade costume for women entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Brittany, the 'Corpse Bride' costume creator:

The idea came from Tim Burton's Corpse Bride.

I am wearing the costume. I had had this idea in mind for years but had to find the right dress to start off with and transform.

This costume was created by finding a wedding dress at Goodwill. I then altered the dress to fit and slightly deconstruct. Using RIT dyes mixed to different shades and dilutions I hand dyed the dress by brushing the color on in stages.

A bridal headpiece was also purchased and hand dyed. The veil was made by sewing tulle in two layers to a headband. The wig if had for years.

The final step was the makeup. I applied it all myself after research oh the look of the corpse bride.

The photos were taken by friends.
