A word from Lily, the 'Corpse Bride' costume creator:

This is my interpretation of Tim Burton's corpse bride. My very talented mother and I worked together to create this costume with my mom doing the sewing and I working on the painting. This costume looks like a full dress but it is a 2 piece, skirt and corset. The corset was store bought then covered with lace , pearls and then painted, we also filled fabric and cut the corset to pretend ribs were bulging out from the side of the top. The skirt is made of a chiffon like fabric and cut jaggedly at the hem and painted to look old and tattered. We also made a Viel out of black fake roses cut and painted into a head piece and then organza painted and cut.To finish this costume we added a bouquet and rapped lace around the stems to give the real effect of a wedding bouquet. Overall this cost of this costume was about $70.00 dollars. We love the turn out and enjoy doing this every year!!
