A&W Root Beer Can Costume

My son, Jakob, is modeling his root beer can costume. I asked him back in a July what he wanted to be for Halloween, and for 2 months he told me "a root beer can!" So, I made him a root beer can costume and modeled it after an A&W can.

I started with a pop-up laundry hamper, and cut out the bottoms. I then purchased duct tape that had a wood grain pattern (yes, they make that!), and taped it to a couple of pieces of poster board, and stapled that to the hamper. I used felt pieces and cut out the logo (all free hand while using a can as my guide). I then hot glued all the pieces to the front of the "can". I even put nutrition facts and a barcode on the back. He loved it! We got so many compliments on it while trick-or-treating!
