A word from Jessica, the 'Wyldstyle from The Lego Movie' costume creator:

My 7 year old daughter, Alexia, thought long and hard about what she wanted to be for Halloween this year and finally decided on Wyldstyle from The Lego Movie. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but she assured me that I was capable of making anything, and that she knew it would be great. I went through a lot of trial and error while figuring out the best methods to make her costume look authentic. It was a lot of work. A LOT of work...but every day my daughter came home from school she was super excited about my progress. So I knew I couldn't let her down. Her head was made from a cement tube and insulation foam that I cut and sanded into shape. Her body was made from corrugated plastic that I painted. I spent hours drawing and cutting out stencils to paint on the graphics. The hands are insulation foam and poster board. I used regular house paint to do the graphics the sleeve of the plain black sweatshirt she wore. The legs were made from poster board and foam sheets (I made them about two hours before we left the house to go trick or treating). And finally, her hair...ohhhh her hair. That was definitely the most difficult part of the whole costume. It is made completely out of insulation foam. I spent so much time carving and sanding the hair, that there were days I couldn't even write out a grocery list because my hands hurt so bad :( Also, the hair is removable from the head...like the real Lego minifigure. I painted a couple of coats of polycrylic on every part of the costume to give it a real Lego looking shine. It was definitely a lot of work, but in the end, my daughter LOVED it. And she loved all of the attention she got while she was trick or treating. Everyone wanted to take a picture with her. I would say this was a labor of love, but definitely a success :)

Thank you so much! That means a lot. I put a lot of work into it, and it means so much to know that other people think it is cool :)

I love this, I am going to try to make it for my 6yr old this year. Do you by chance have measurements of the body?

OMG!! That is amazing. And it's even more impressive when you actually realize how much work went into it. You deserve a trophy and a vacation lol
