The Claw Costume

The costume my husband and I made was inspired by my daughter's love for playing the crane game filled with stuffed animals! We used an ordinary box and cut out the shape accordingly. We used paint, duct tape, cellophane, pipe cleaners and a Dixie cup for the claw. We also put in some battery operated lights to illuminate the inside and lights around the sign. My husband created a slot for candy and I decorated the outside with many Halloween stickers as well. The joystick is made from a plastic eyeball and a market cap with candy corn arrows. I used reflective tape to make it shine and glow in the dark duct tape with ghosts and pumpkins! To carry it we installed a backpack for her to wear and a bar in front for her to hold it up. It was really fun to make and our daughter got lots of compliments!
