This is amazing I love it. Can you give me some instructions on how you did this? What did you use for the hair and how did you get it to match the whole outfit? Where did you get the wings they really make the whole outfit. How did you color the outfit? I have to know how you did this REALLY want to do this for my daughter this year! Amazing work this is beautiful, very talented!!!!

I am making this costume now for my daughter that loves Doctor Who. It is quite hard and will take me some time this is why I started now. I found instructions by googling it. Basically i bought a dress at the thrift store. I cut of the top layer so I only had the lining. I then sewed in a sheet to the top to make a roomy dress. Gathered it at the middle to create folds. The underneath holds a hula hoop that that I sewed to the old dress. The top layer goes over that and has more elastic at the bottom to fan out the hula hoop.
I made mask with a mask found at a craft store and clay. It was super fun. My daughter loves it. The wig will be made with yarn and panty hose. Sewed on and also hot glued together. The arms are also made from panty hose. I cut the crotch out and out over my daughters head then sewed around the fingers then cut out to make gloves. The entire thing will be painted with acrylic paints mixed half and half with a fabric medium. Start with a light grey and then paint over with a dark grey and finally white for highlights.. The wings are drawn out but not cut.. From thin plywood found at a craft store. We will then cut out feathers from stryophone and glue them on and paint it using the same method.

I am not sure how this user made hers but this is how we are making my daughters.

Hello Terra and Kelly... Kelly is using similar products as I did. For Katie's dress I used an old lacey shirt with an old white tablecloth sewn and gathered to it. I didn't have a hula hoop so I used 2 wire coat hangers. I used opaque toddler tights for her arms which I did cut the crotch out and saved for later. I then made the ends of the tights into gloves and with her wearing them I glued fake nails which I had trimmed for a scary look. I then sewed the "arms" to the lacey top. I took the crotch part and sewed stone grey colored yarn to it for the wig. I then styled and tacked with thread the hair style. I took another gray pair of pantyhose brief part and sewed it onto the neckline of the top I used so it would cover Katie's head keeping her hair from coming through and also allowing me to blend her makeup to the hose for a realistic look. I didn't use a mask but I did use non toxic fabric paint for her make up. careful sponging gave it the stone effect. We painted the dress the matching color as well. For the wings I had some scrap flimsy light material the kind of stuff guys use to line tool boxes to hold tools still. I'm not sure what it's called but it's light and very sturdy. I took apart an old backpack purse and used the straps for a harness for the wings. I then painted them to match. I find that fabric paint is not only great for hobbies but excellent for face paint. It washes off easily with warm water and it doesn't run, smear or get into the child's eyes like cream make-up... Wish you the best on yours... Have fun!!! Oh and Katie told me she loved her costume so much she wants to keep it for when she grows up to have kids. :)
