Ms. Universe Costume

This is me wearing my homemade Ms. Universe costume. I used a dress I already owned and sewed on a sun made of felt. I made a tutu out of different fabrics and elastic then wired hand-painted styrofoam planets to the tutu. I cut out felt stars and wired them on my shoulders and also on a headband. I painted my face with silver paint and added a star over my eye as well as some glittery star stickers. I used temporary silver and purple hair dye in my hair. To finish the outfit I wore some shoes my friend gave me and a pair of leggings I already owned with a solar system motif.

I had looked online and seen several "universe" or "solar system" costumes, however, it was mainly pregnant women or children wearing the costumes. I wanted to make something that was cute and in a style reminiscent of Lady GaGa.
