Sarah's Homemade Haunted House

Sarah Elizabeth is nearly three years old and insisted she wanted to be, as she called it, a "House Halloween" for Halloween this year. So, I found an image of a Haunted House online and mapped out a sketch of how we would put it together using a simple brown cardboard box. We used construction paper, felt, pipe cleaners, adhesive appliques, and glow-in-the-dark paint. We used a hot glue gun to assemble it all, attaching a cardboard 'roof' to one of the back panels of the box, so it would hang over Sarah's head. That was so it wouldn't sit like a hat on Sarah's head, since she wouldn't tolerate that. We bought the stickers and appliques and other supplies from a local crafts store. Total cost was probably $50. It was a hit and she loved it!
