This homemade costume for girls entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Patricia, the 'Emily from Corpse Bride' costume creator:

I made this costume for my little sister. One of our favorite Halloween movies is Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and I saw a makeup tutorial for it on youtube and me and my sister fell in love with the idea. I found a baby blue brides maid dress at my local thrift store along with some flowers. I cut up the bottom of the dress with scissors and spray painted the dress with blue and black. For her veil, I got fabric for the train at Joann's, then I just shredded the ends and spray painted the edges with the blue and black. I hot glued the train to a headband of flowers that I had put together and spray painted blue and black and that made up her veil. I painted on her dress with white and black to make the illusion that her ribs were popping out of the dress and then for her face I mixed a white cream makeup with a little bit of blue, applied it all over her face except for where I was gonna place the fake eyeballs. Then i colored in her 'eyeballs' white and shaded her face with a blue eyeshadow. The whole costume to make (with the cost of the makeup) cost me about $45. I tried taking her to our local mall for the costume contest but they had cancelled it but a bunch of people at the mall and when we went trick or treating asked for her picture.
