Charmin and Mr Whipple Costume

Costume type:  Costumes for Couples
Category:Halloween Costumes

This homemade costume for couples entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Lisa, the 'Charmin & Mr Whipple' costume creator:

I thought to personify 'Charmin' and so made her a sexy 'roll' wearing a garter and thigh high stockings, rhinestones and make-up. My toilet paper is a big piece of sponge wrapped around me and then topped with a sheet. Mr Whipple had to accompany me of, of course, and couldn't stop squeezing me! We won first prize!

How can we buy this

#2 comment by Lisa September 29, 2013

I made it at home. The roll is a big piece of sponge and I printed the baby face off of the computer. My words are sticky letters that I cut out.

Hi Lisa, I thought the foam piece could be taped together but how do I secure the white sheet & the blue piece?

I think I used 'Stitch Witchery', that stuff you can iron pieces of fabric together with. To be honest, I can't remember how I secured the sponge piece around my body - may have had it taped all the way around. I do remember just tucking in the sheet as that made it look more like toilet paper!

Hi Lisa, Wondering how you did your necklace? So, I think I have this. Tape for the foam piece. Blur fabric is attached to the white fabric with Stitch Witchery. Don't know how to attach the paper print out of the baby's face to the fabric. And don't know how to keep the blue fabric closed. And we're you able to sit down at all? Thanks again. Your help has been great!

Necklace is just printed out on paper with a colored printer; trimmed it with a zigzag scissors and stiffened it with clear packaging tape, stuck a ring thru it and hung it from a necklace. (You could just tape it to string too.)
Double sided tape for the baby face to the blue fabric. Perhaps Velcro to keep blue fabric closed? You would have to sew that on both ends...I think I may have done that. I was able to sit but my 'roll' would bunch up a little. You could always cut your sponge piece shorter. Good luck! Post a pic when you are done!

Where did you find the picture of the baby and the picture for your necklace.

Charmin.com - 1970; copy image and put onto a word document; enlarge; cut out; double sided tape (it will a bit out of focus)

Necklace - Pick a font that looks sort of like the "Charmin' font; I had a color printer that could make white letters on a blue background.

What did you use for the Charmin letters. Did you use white contact paper or something else.

It was sticky backed felt-like material that came in sheets. Maybe look at Micheal's or any kind of craft store? Could also use stitch witchery behind white material but will take a bit longer.

Silly question, but how did you used the ladies room?

#15 comment by Lisa September 8, 2015

I literally wore garters with underwear beneath so was easily able to sit even as the 'roll' hiked up a bit.....I definitely stuffed the stall as I entered but it was easy to manage
