Captain Teague Costume

this is my husband as Captain Teague (keeper of the code)his jacket makes the whole costume here i think, i bought a women's red wool trench coat at goodwill a size to small for him but my sister cut a strip from the bottom and sewed it down the middle of the back to make it wider and also sewed some cool cuffs on the sleeves since it was a bit short for him. Then i had found a table runner at a thrift store that had the design i cut out and hot glued that to the front and put a fabric paint boarder around it. I couldn't seem to find cool gold buttons for the coat that wouldn't cost to much so i found another coat at a dif thrift shop for $3 that had 10 gold buttons on it. altogether this coat cost $19.00 hat and wig $11, shirt $25 we added extra ruffle,vest $4, pants (resale) .99. shoes (resale) $5, pirate show cover $14 sword $1.99, gun $5 scarf for waist band $3.00 roughly $89 for the costume.
