Captain Liberty and The Tick Couples Costume

My husband dressed up like "The Tick" so I dressed up like "Captain Liberty". You really can't buy these costumes so we decided to make them at home. I was able to find the burgundy velvet leotard, gold shorts, and burgundy fishnet leggings online and made everything else at home. I sprayed painted a pair of boots gold and made everything else from gold and burgundy velvet scrap book pages paper that I found at Michael's. I used the gold paper (which s thick as card stock) to make the top of the boots, the arm shields, and the crown. I founds some gold fabric and a burgundy plush blanket for the cape and found an "Olympic torch" on line to finish up the detailing. I kept the costume PG friendly so I did not cut out the star shaped cleavage on the leotard. It was fun to make and it took all together about 8 hours of work.
