How to make bikini top and what boobs are made of?

#31 comment by Lisa Cupp October 7, 2015

This isn't my costume but from looking at it this is what I would do....You can probably use any size of ball (children's ball like you would find in the toy department) or a beach ball for the boobs. Depending on what size you want. Maybe take a small foam ball and cut it in half and glue it on for the nipples. Again depending on what size ball you use will depend on what size nipple. Glue a piece of pink felt over the ball for the areola. For the bra you can use an old sheet or Pillow cases and cut to fit. Or go out and buy clearance fabric. Sew it or glue it. Doesn't have to be perfect. Hope this gives you some good ideas.

I just made this last night for me and my husband. I ordered 2 tan colored tshirts online. They are $13.00 total. Make sure you get a bigger size than you normally wear to fit the ball. I bout two balls from 5 below for $4 each. I then got 3 yards of fabric and 6 years of lace at the fabric store. The entire costume was under $30. We had a friend help because it's hard to know if your boobs are even since my husband and I are different sizes. We each but the ball under our shirts and draped the fabric around as our friend pinned it. Once she pinned both, I sewed them. You can also use the magic tape stuff that you iron on or hot glue. I did hot glue the lace for the strap and around the bra.

Thanks Amy for all the details...very helpful. My husband and I are going to give it a try! The balls that you got at 5 Below - were they blow up beach balls?
Thanks!

#35 comment by Michelle August 8, 2016

What type of pants to u wear? Could u do a Hula skirt?

#36 comment by jan October 8, 2016

anybody selling this costume already made ?

#37 comment by Delma October 21, 2016

Can you send me a picture of the back

#38 comment by Donna October 22, 2016

Fabric is usually about 42" wide. Measure 42" long and fold into a triangle. Start about 1-1/2 " up from the fold and sew the edges, leaving a small hole to turn the fabric right side out. There you have it! Make a matching strap (or something else) to cross over your shoulder across your back to inside point at bottom of bra. String some tie through where you have made a casing on the fold (through the 1-1/2" you left open). Voila

#39 comment by Donna October 22, 2016

p.s. We used the yellow out of a package of Punch Balls balloons and blew up to 40" circumference.
You will be gathering fabric along the bottom (on your waist tie that you strung through)to fit your boob - and maybe up the underarm- maybe.

Hi! This looks like it was from 2 years ago but I would love to buy/rent those flowery boobs.

#41 comment by BEV Ann September 29, 2018

What did you use for the boob under shirt?

#42 comment by Deb Carmicheal October 3, 2018

What a clever idea

#43 comment by Tammy October 23, 2018

Does it take 3 yards total? I saw someone said 3 yards and 6 yards of lace.

#44 comment by Teri October 19, 2021

There was a very descriptive way of how to make this. The only change I might suggest is using punch balloons for the boobs. They have a little more squish to them. And if I am thinking good, the end of the balloon would actually make it great image of a hard nipple(if you want that)
