Bobble Heads Costume

Troy Polamalu, Andrew McCutchen, Dana Holgosen, and Jeremy Lin Bobbles

Costume type:  Costumes for Groups
Category:Halloween Costumes

This homemade costume for groups entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Matthew, the 'Bobble Heads' costume creator:

3 of my friends and I came up with the idea to make these huge Bobbleheads after looking around our apartment for inspirations. They are made with a 5 gallon bucket and paper mache for the heads; and cardboard tri-fold boards with old shoes for the bases. Our feet are actually on the ground underneath the bases. We cut through the soles of old shoes so we could slide our feet all the way through. Then dressed accordingly.

Did your heads actually bobble? If so, how did you make them do that? This are pretty sweet!! Nice job.

Thank you. We did not make the bobble mechanism due to time. we zip tied bicycle helmets to the inside of the 5 gallon buckets and the little movement of your head actually made them appear to bobble a good bit.

That's great, thanks. Can I ask how you made your platforms?

we just cut big circle out of black tri fold boards that you use for science fair projects and hot glued leftover strips around the bottom to raise it up.
