Beheaded Bride Costume

My name is Ann and have wanted to do this costume for a long time, I finally had the time to put into making it, and this is how I did it. First a friend found a wedding dress in the trash, so it had to be dry cleaned. Then I took a T-Shirt and pinned to the inside of the dress and filled with newspaper and batting. Then I took T-shirt out of dress and added a coffee can for neck and covered with duct tape and paper mache, (very important I used a guaze and white glue mixture so it would have strength but easier to mold). I let dry overnight with a fan proped against it. I then took light grey mansory silicone and applyed to torso, (once dried it gives a real dead flesh look and feel). I let that dry overnight. Next step was attaching the torso to me, what I did was took an old backpack frame and duct taped wooden dowels to back pack frame and then sewed string around the dowels in tshirt still inside the torso. I laid the dress on ground laid in it and marked where the face needed to be cut out and did so. I also marked and cut slits for my real hands to come out when need be. Then I added opera gloves filled with batting and attched to arms of dress to make it look as if i was holding my beheaded head. Now this is the best part in my eyes I added a mixture of white glue and raisin bran to top of neck for a real scabby torn flesh look and coated it with fake blood. I glued a shoelace on top for neck bone. Next part I used thin tubing and ran up through torso until it stuck out of the neck and painted it red (looks like an artery). I attached the tubing to a fake heart I had lying around and the top attachment allows me to squirt bllod out of the neck, That piece was given to me at local halloween store who had a broken prop. I made a veil by taking old curtains and and attaching to a headband and splattered costume with blood. My make up was simple I used a pale cream first then applied baby powder to my face, for that decomposed dead look. I added dark eyeshadow around my eyes with a little red as well. Last I took same rasin bran mixture and glued to my face with white glue and fake blood. This costume was all made from things I found and made at my home and only cost me $5.99 for fake blood already had silicone and other items lying around the house.
