This homemade costume for girls entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Tracy, the 'Coloring in Book' costume creator:
This is my 12-year-old daughter as a relaxing, adult coloring-in book - which seem to be sold everywhere! we bought a white skirt at the local second-hand clothing store and "converted" it into a dress for her. with a regular sharpie pen I drew in the coloring book - making it up as I went along but using patterns available on the internet as inspiration. With fabric markers we colored in sections. The headband is plastic, magnetic letters from the Dollar Store hot glued onto a hard headband. The giant pencil is a poster mailing tobe from Staples with a point made out of paper mache. The whole costume was I am sure under $30 - not including the accompanying glasses of wine I consumed while drawing a section of the pattern every night! Hey, it's been tough election coverage to watch each night on the tv. (I may coloring the rest in after Halloween before Nov. 8th)
