Gene Simmons Costume

This is my husband Chris and we made this costume from scratch! He loves the rock group KISS and especially Gene Simmons. Starting with his shoes, we bought some plain black boots from the Salvation Army and he took off the heel and built the platform out of wood and painted the wood black and then stapled it onto the bottom of the shoe. The stretchy pants are another purchase from the Salvation Army and the belt is one of mine. He used a black t-shirt and slit it down the front and then attached chains purchased from the hardware store to the shirt and onto a black collar we bought at the costume shop. Then, he used a black umbrella for the wings by attaching it to the back of the shirt. I did his make-up (which took an hour to do) and he wore a wig, painted his fingernails black and used a fake tongue that was purchased at the costume shop. It took a long time and patience to put this together!
