A word from Heidi, the 'Avenger Adventures' costume creator:
AVENGER ADVENTURES! “If we cannot protect the earth, then we will AVENGE it!” Tony Stark. I call my family my paper dolls because I love to dress them up and they are all willing participants.
Halloween is my favorite holiday because we get to dress up as a family. I love the gathering process and take it as my personal challenge to do it as inexpensively as possible. It’s really a fun family experience and makes for great scrapbooking later!
My creative process involves thrift stores, craft shops and online shopping for those hard to find items.
HULK was easy he already had the hulk shirt and foam fists because he’s a boy!
CAPTAIN AMERICA and THOR dresses bought online for about $25 and added the hammer for $10 and borrowed Captain America’s shield. Pants and leggings were added for modesty.
BLACK WIDOW I purchased a wig online and thrifted the black jacket and pants and belt and added a paper widow logo.
TONY STARK/Iron Man was a glowing arc recactor shirt I purchased from hottopic.com, mussed up his hair with some gel and drew on his mustache and goatee with an eyeliner pencil. He added his own cockiness and sarcasm to the character to make it even better.
We went behind a warehouse to take pictures to give it a cool industrial look. Some one should have told me that doing that split pose looked a lot cooler when Scarlett Johanssen as Black Widow does it! It was pretty epic dressing like these action packed characters from the Avengers!
