This homemade costume for boys entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Michelle, the 'Alvin the Chipmunk' costume creator:
This is my son Austin as Alvin the chipmunk! The idea came from myself and two of my girlfriends who made our own chippette costumes (we did all the sewing) and realized whats the chippettes without an ALVINNNNNNNNN! What I used was so simple and such an easy costume for any mom.

Red turtleneck - Yellow felt (about a half a yard was plenty)
- Chalk to sketch the A on the felt

Red baseball hat (he previously had) - Baggy jeans (can be purchased at a second hand store)
And that's it! I sketched the A out with the chalk on the felt, cut, and hand sewed on the Shirt and hat! It was such a hit and a keeper for his "childhood memories".
