Alien vs. Predator Costume

Me (Predator) and my girlfriend (Alien). I have always been a big fan of Predator since I first saw the Schwarzenegger original film and constructed the costume after buying the mask and gloves online. The body is a Space Ghost costume (which is perfect because it's all white and has the muscles) spray painted and covered in fishnet stockings. The armor is made from carpet padding layered with duct tape and spray painted. This gives it a sturdy look while being lightweight and maleable. The shoulder cannon assembly is made from rain gutter material and has a small motor pulled from a toy, which is rigged to a switch in the glove so it rotates back and forth. The mask has three laser pointers embedded next to the right eye which are spliced together into a depression trigger in my mouth so they come on when I bite down and turn off when I release. Under the armor breast plates are a voice changer speaker with a head mic inside the mask so I can talk in a creepy voice and an ipod attached to a speaker and on a loop that plays roars and clicking noises. The ensemble is adorned with "trophies" from the hunt, including a rubber spinal cord and skull in a netted bag hanging off the back and a real cat skull on the codpiece that was found while digging up a water line in the backyard. The outer mask raises to show the full face underneath.

My girlfriend has always loved the Alien movies and when we met, I knew she was the one; to be with in love and to complete the other half of the costume duo. Because the Alien looks like its body has been inverted, the costume is a full body vinyl suit with counter top grip material stitched to it. The chest piece is a vest from a thrift store with electrical conduit and a garden hose to form the skeletal appearance. The back is comprised of cardboard packing material and ventilation tubing, which has also been cut into finer strips and placed on the legs and torso to simulate exposed muscle fibers. The codpiece is more electrical tubing and the ventilation tubing, with the tail made from a foam pool noodle and spray painted with rubber sealing spray to provide durability. Got to make sure a woman has a "purse" so I took the hood from the vest and attached it under the tail so it makes a small pouch by her butt. The mask and gloves were purchased online and modified, with a plastic gallon milk jug shoved in to the back of the elongated head to provide form. The feet are high heels with store bought monster feet glued to them and foam flooring material added to hide the fact the shoes give her more height.

We love to go to karaoke and will wear these for Halloween to sing songs that appropriately match our costumes (Predator - Long Tall Sally by Little Richard. Alien - Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar)
