The stem was too see-through so I added 4 layers of purple tule underneath to hide in.

Photo #1 - Hiding in the stem at a Halloween boat party Photo #2 - Standing outside of the costume on a boat Photo #3 - Gathered large piece of fabric around tiny piece of elastic with sewing machine. Photo #4 - Large piece of elastic for center ring of mushroom. Elastic is sewed onto the clear white shiny iridescent fabric. I hot glued a shiny purple iridescent fabric to the elastic to serve as the stem. Photo #5 - Here I finished hot gluing colorful tule underneath the mushroom cap. Photo #6 - The stem was too see-through so I added 4 layers of purple tule underneath to hide in. Photo #7 - I got some styrofoam balls (some were already halved, others I had to cut in half) in 3 different sizes. I covered them in iridescent fabric and sparkly tule by using a hot glue gun.
