After Dinner Mint Costume

I am wearing the costume that I created. I call it "After Dinner Mint" My idea started with the wig. I thought it was cute and was wondering what theme I could use. My aunt suggested peppermints as its a red and white wig. From there my mind went to work. I bought a red and white striped skirt and a red tank top off of eBay. I really wanted to be noticed, so I bought some 8" 1/2 circle Styrofoam balls off of Amazon. I went to the dollar store for the rest. I poked holes in the Styrofoam to add battery operated lights in red and white and hot glued on peppermints and lots and lots of iridescent glitter. Once the styrofoam circles were decorated, I used thread to attach them to an old bra, making them easy to remove from the actual costume. I used Christmas ornaments from the Dollar tree for earrings and made a peppermint choker out of ribbon and hot glue. I also decorated a little hat headband I bought on Amazon to match the ensemble. I did my make up in a red and white peppermint theme to stand out. Needless to say, I definitely got a lot of positive praise and attention at the Halloween Parties I attended. The costume held up really well!! I was impressed.
