A word from Tiffany, the 'Abominable Snowman and Yukon Cornelius' costume creator:

My favorite childhood Christmas show is Rudolph and my boyfriend and I couldn't find too many costumes on the internet with people dressed up as the characters. It took my boyfriend awhile to convince me to dress as a man...especially a bearded man.

To create the Abominable Snowman we went to the goodwill and paid $2 for a shirt and a pair of pants. We then went to a fabric store and bought $30 worth of faux fur. After a lot of measuring, cutting, and gluing the outfit was formed. The hands and feet were also found at the goodwill for $3 total and we painted them blue and used black finger nail polish for the nails. For the head we used a bucket covered in fur and drew the face and mouth on cardboard then painted them and glued them on.

To create Yukon Cornelius we started at goodwill and bought a men's XL jacket(which was huge on me)for $6 and a pair of athletic pants for $1. I used my own pair of black boots and tucked the pants inside. I placed a pillow to make me look overweight and used an elastic belt to hold the pillow tight. The ice pick was a small hammer made to look like an ice pick, the gun was bought for $1 and painted silver. The earmuffs were bought at the goodwill for $2 at the goodwill and painted yellow. The red hat was also a goodwill purchase. The face is a mask covered with nude panty hose and a clown nose glued on. We then cut out black foam eyes and glued them to the mask to resemble the real Yukon eyes. The beard is an afro beard that we bought for $10 and spray painted orange. The epic mustache was made from a few pipe cleaners wrapped with beard hair.

The total for both costumes was around $60 and completely worth it.
